There's a few shortcuts you can take to start the Elden Ring DLC content. We'll go through a few methods.
The DLC for Elden Ring launched recently. As Shadow of the Erdtree became available on 六月 21, 2024, players can explore a whole new area. But you can't simply teleport there, as there are certain ways to unlock it. Depend on where you are in the game, theres' a few ways to go about clearing the conditions required.
Unlocking it requires some progression in the main game. Namely, you need to defeat Starscourge Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood.
Starscourge Radahn (Normal Method)
In order to meet Radahn, you have to progress enough in the story to begin the Radahn Festival. You can trigger it after doing the first two major sections of the game: Stormveil Castle and Raya Lucaria Academy. Once you finish these two, you will be able to head to Redmane Castle in Caelid to start the Festival.
Defeat Godrick the Grafted in Stormveil Castle. Then, head over to the Liurnia of the Lakes region, onto the Academy. Battle the many wizards within to reach Rennala, and slay her to keep going.
Starscourge Radahn (Fast and Easy Method)
If you want to shortcut and get there without beating the two aforementioned bosses, you can trigger the festival earlier. Activate any Site of Grace in the amber fields of Altus Plateau after getting both halves of the Dectus Medallion and taking the lift up.
The first half of the medallion is in Fort Haight, in the starting area of Limgrave. There's not even a need to fight many of the enemies there.
The second half is in Fort Faroth in nortern Caelid.
When you have both havles, venture to the Dectus Lift at the north end of Liurnia (on Bellum Highway) and follow the “hoist medallion” prompt. Reach the top, then go north, and you'll find another Site of Grace. Get yourself ready for a battle!
Mohg, Lord of Blood (Normal Method)
With Mohg, you'll have to reach the Dynasty Mausoleum. You will need to defeat a bunch of the main story bosses up to Morgott, the Omen King (who is in Leyndell). Once you best him, the Grand Lift of Rold will take you to the Forbidden Lands; to the west, lie Consecrated Snowfields. You need a medallion first, which is at Castle Sol in the northern part of the Forbidden Lands. Beat Commander Niall to get it.
The other half is back in Liurnia, in the Village of the Albinaurics. Find Albus who is in a jar, and free him (roll through it). He gives you the other half of the medallion.
Now, you can return to the Grand Lift of Rold; and there will be a new command to use with the lift. When standing on it, press right on the dpad to see the secret medallion option. Now, head to a Site of Grace and then southwest.
With both halves, head back to the Grand Lift of Rold. There’s now a second option when you hit the lift that says, “hoist secret medallion”. When you’re standing on the lift platform, press right on the D-pad to see the secret medallion option. Now that you’re up in the Consecrated Showfields, find a site of grace and make your way to the southwest part of the area.
Kill off a Sanguine Noble and in the ruins, there will be a portal that takes you to the Dynasty Mausoleum, which is a whole dungeon in of itself. At the end is Mohg.
Mohg, Lord of Blood (Varre Quest)
An alternate method to getting to Mohg is becoming an apostle of Mohg and joining the Knights of Luminary. To do this, there's a questline with White Mask Varre, who is by the elevator to Limgrave. After talking to him, defeat Godrick as usual. This causes Varre to move to the Rose Church in Liurnia.
Tell him that something is off with the Two Fingers, and he'll give you a few Festering Bloody Fingers. You need to use these to invade other players. Do it 3 times (and you don't actually have to fight them even), and you can use the Finger Severer to return to your Elden Ring world.
Then talk to Varre again, and he will show his true colors. Tell him "Anoint me," and he will give you another item: Lord of Blood's favor. You need to soak it in the blood of a maiden. You can do this by going to the Church of Inhibition, in the northweast corner of Liurnia, above the Frenzied Flame Village.
Alternatively, you can kill Hyetta, but she is a quest-giver.
Return to Varre once again, and you will join the Order that way. With the final item he gives you, you can teleport straight to Mohgwyn's Palace. Reach the Mausoleum from there.
How to start Shadow of the Erdtree - Touch the Withered Arm
Once you've defeated both of them, in whatever manner you choose, head back to the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum and find Miquella's Cocoon. Interact with it to enter the Land of Shadow and begin the Elden Ring DLC.
